Our Legacy

This barn and property hold the cherished legacy of the Hutchison Family, spanning over four decades and embodying the enduring spirit of love, hard work, and commitment to the land. Originally stewarded by Kathryn and the late Jack Hutchison in Versailles, MO, the farm flourished under Jack's passion for farming and cattle raising, nurturing bountiful crops and fields of golden hay.

In 2016, recognizing the property's potential and the community's need for a special gathering place, Kathryn and her eldest daughter, Judy Jo Hutchison, envisioned a new chapter for the beloved barn. They transformed it into a captivating Wedding and Event Venue, breathing new life into the historic space that had witnessed generations of toil and joy.

As fate would have it, the legacy continued to unfold as Dodge, the youngest grandson of Jack and Kathryn, found love amidst the rustic charm of the barn. On June 3rd, 2017, Dodge and his beloved Tara exchanged vows, becoming the first couple to pledge their forever amidst the weathered beams and the spirit of "Jackie's" barn.

The name "Legacy" holds profound significance, paying homage to Jack and Kathryn's enduring impact on the land and its stories. It was inspired not only by their steadfast dedication but also by the timeless image of Jack and Kathryn alongside their ox teams and covered wagons, immortalized in the movie "The Legacy." This name encapsulates the intertwining of past and present, of love and labor, creating a space where new legacies are born and cherished memories are woven into the very fabric of the land.
