This barn and property has been in the Hutchison Family for over 40 years. It is owned by Kathryn and the late Jack Hutchison of Versailles, MO.  Jack always loved farming and raising cattle.  Until recently this property has been a working farm yielding cattle, crops and hay.  In 2016, due to our great location and a need for something like this in the area Kathryn and her oldest daughter, Judy Jo Hutchison decided to turn the barn into a Wedding and Event Venue.  Since that decision, Jack and Kathryn’s youngest grandson Dodge asked his girlfriend Tara to marry him, she said yes!!!!  Dodge and Tara were the first couple to get married in Dodge’s Grandpa “Jackie’s” barn on June 3^rd 2017.

We arrived at the name Legacy because Jack and Kathryn along with their ox teams and coved wagons appeared in the movie The Legacy.  Jack has left his mark/legacy in many ways, thus the name “The Legacy” was born.

The Legacy embodies rustic elegance.  The main floor has over 3000 square feet and is equipped with heating and cooling throughout. It has small white lights lining the ceiling with draped fabric. The inside of the barn is all original and a large rustic beam above the alter holds a large chandelier. The main level also has handicap men’s and women’s bathrooms to accommodate your crowd. We are equipped with a caterer’s kitchen in the back. Above the main floor the loft has bride and groom dressing areas. The bride quarters contains a sitting area, for her wedding party to calm their nerves, and their own bathroom. The large outside area can accommodate outdoor wedding, tents, décor etc.  Tables and chairs will be available up to 300 people.
